Confirmation

My boys are growing up.  They are becoming young men.   My prayer today for them is that Bryan and I help them grow to be Godly men.   Men that know they have a special purpose through Jesus and that they always turn to Him whatever their circumstances in life.

Owen,

Today is the day that you grow a little bit more.   A day when you do something very important that will make you into the man you are going to become.   After today, you will be able to depend on God and his Holy Spirit more then ever to guide and lead you.

I remember when you were a tiny baby.  You were the happiest baby and you always made me laugh. You always amazed me as a little boy.   No matter how old you were you would do everything that your older brother did.   You could throw a ball, ride a bike, cast a fishing pole, climb up things...all when you were 18 months old.  You were so athletic and had such a big heart.   You amazed me when I took your training wheels off at age 2 and you already knew how to ride a bike.

When you were 3 and Gabe would leave for school it was our time to snuggle and read.   You loved books.   You loved to sit with a book and look at all the pictures.   You used to open a book...smell it....and rub your hands across it before we could read it together.   You favorite all time book was anything Mercer Mayer and you thought Little Critters name was Mercer Mayer.    We would read those books for hours together.

As you grew I was always amazed at all the things you could do.   When things don't come easy for you....you get so frustrated.   Do you know why?    It's because you are so used to everything being so easy because you are good at everything.    Yet, I know as you grow you will learn that some things don't come so easily.   You will always succeed at everything you choose to do.  Why?   Because you are Owen.   A special, wonderful young man that God created for a special purpose.  You always amaze me at everything you choose to do and I can't wait to see what you will do as you grow up.

You will have God, His Son, and the Holy Spirit to guide, protect, and love you.   Everyday.   No matter what happens in your life.   You will also have St. Peter to guide you.   Pray to them, Owen....when you need them.   They will always hear you and always answer you.

St. Peter was a very special man to God.   Just as you are.   God loved him because his heart was open to Him no matter what mistakes he made.   This is my prayer for you.

I love you, my Son, Jesus loves you.   Today is a special day in your life and it makes me so happy.

Gabe,

Today you step a little bit more into your life as a young man.    You become more adult then child.   As the days pass you are becoming the young man we hoped you would become.   Your Dad and I are very proud of you and who you are becoming.

You have always been a wonderful surprise to me.    You still surprise me everyday.   The day you were born the Dr's lifted you up so I could see you and I looked at you with love and surprise.    In my mind, you were a girl.   I think because I only had a sister and wasn't expecting a boy.   As I looked at you my heart filled with love and my surprise turned to an intense love for you.

As the days passed and I learned how to be a mother you surprised me everyday.    You were always so full of life, excitement, and energy.  As a baby, you never slept.    Your cry in the night was torture to my soul and I remember just praying for you sleep.   Your Dad was so patient with you.   He would put you on his chest and sing songs to you for hours and hours.   It was all such a special time for the 3 of us.   You don't remember a time when it was just you....but I do.     I remember how very special you were to you Dad and I and how much we all spent together.

We spent hours and hours on the porch swing at our house in Arvada together.    Your Dad built you a sand box and we would spend time outside together playing in the sand, eating popcycles and swinging together.

When we named you Gabriel I had no idea you would become "my messenger".   Gabriel was an angel of God sent to Mary to be her messenger that Jesus was coming.   You are indeed "my messenger" sent from God that teaches me so many things about what He wanted in my life and in your life.    You brought a message and you are still teaching me.    You taught me how to be kind and loving and patient and to give up control.    I don't always do these everyday but you have taught me so much about this life.   Your life and your light and your energy, your kindness, your leadership skills, have taught me more then anything else in my life.    You have shaped me and molded me each day and I am so thankful for you.    My love for you surprises me.   You are my Gabriel.   My Messenger.

You are such a special young man.   As I watch you grow and make decisions for yourself, I am amazed.    Gabe, when you follow your heart....you always make the right decisions.   I have seen that this year at school with your friends and here at home.

God loves you with an intense love.   He made you and has a special purpose just for you.    Everyday he will guide, lead, protect and love you.   Depend on Him.   Call upon Him.   He will answer you every time.   Call upon his Spirit when you need him.    Now, you will also have St. Andrew to help you.    he was also a big brother, a leader, and a man of God.   It is very special to have someone like that on your side.

I want to tell you one more thing.  When you were 3 months old I was pushing you in the grocery cart in Arvada.   You were kicking your legs and smiling at me.    I stopped to look at something and felt someone looking at me.     I turned around and a lady came up to me.   She asked me your name.   She then looked at me and said something I will never forget.   She said....Your little boy is so full of energy and love.   Don't let anyone try and squash that life.   He will be hard sometimes but direct that energy for good and he will be just fine.    Keep him focused and he will change the world.   At the time, I thought she was crazy but now I look back and realize she was right.   She saw something in you that is so special.   Not everyone has it.   You do.    It is that energy and that drive that you have for things.   God gave you that for a purpose and as you grow he will direct you in how to use it. You will change the world someday because of that gift that God has given you.   Not everyone will understand it and I know your Dad and I don't always get it but, don't let other people change your mind when you have a passion or a love for something.   Stay focused and follow your heart always listening to God and what he has in store for you.

Gabriel, I love you and I can't wait to watch you grow.   I can't wait to see the man you will become.   I am so very thankful for you everyday.

On this special day when our boys joined the church Grammy and Gramps and Grandma and Pop also joined us.    We were all together to celebrate and this just made the day so very special.    I am so thankful that God gave us all each other to call family and to be together to celebrate.

So congratulations to my two sons who have made us so very proud.   I love both of you very much.

The Last Day

It was a gorgeous spring day and we took advantage of it!   We hoped on our bikes and headed down the trail to explore a little bit.

We learned all about our solar system at the outdoor planetarium here in Vistancia.

And, saw some beautiful flowers.

Then we headed to the park to play.

Before the girls hoped on the plane we grabbed a few shots out by the pool.   We had so much fun this Spring Break and can't wait until next year.

The Children's Museum

A day of exploration for the little kids was in order.   We headed down to the Children's Museum for some play time while Amaya and Grandma and Pop went and explored downtown Phoenix.

After all that playing we headed down to Mrs. White's Golden Rule Cafe.   The best fried chicken and black eyed peas you ever tasted!!   The girls loved it.

Activities

Uncle Shrek had a little surprise for Amaya.   A special date night to the Suns Game was in order.  Pretty sure they had a great time.

And, if Auntie Megan and the girls were going to come to Arizona in March then they had to watch a little baseball.   We all had fun watching the boys at their baseball and Tball games!!

Auntie Megan captured these shots of Grace after Eli's Tball game.    So cute!!

Easter

Easter in the beautiful sunshine with your cousins couldn't get any better.   What a special day to be treasured!!

We had so much fun dying those Easter Eggs.   And, even more fun during the Easter Egg Hunt.

The Easter Bunny brought us some fun toys, hair accessories, and books.   How did he know just what we wanted?
