20 Months

Little Grace is 20 months.   Can you imagine being a little girl with three older brothers?   Her world is loud and crazy and full of energy.   Everything is swords and balls and rough housing.

She doesn't give them an inch.  In fact, she is usually the one that makes them scream.  She loves to grab their toys and run with them making them follow her.   She just laughs and runs as fast as her legs will carry her.   And, she loves to make Eli scream.   She will run up to him, pulling his hair, and run off.  Eli will cry and say "Mom, Grace is being a little stinker".

She has to be the messiest little girl I have ever seen.   She loves to make messes.   I swear she spends most of her life getting a bath in the sink because there is no other way to get her clean.    She will get that gleam in her eye, take her plate of food and smear it all over everything.  Screaming "mess, mess" the whole time.

Last week, I heard Owen yelling from the living room.   "Mom, she's spilling it everywhere".   I ignored him trying to get the dishes done until he screamed a second time.   I walked into a living room with coffee grounds spread everywhere.  She was smearing them in the carpet, in the couch, and all over my pillows.    OH, it was the biggest mess I had ever seen and she was so proud of herself.   Needless to say, the coffee is now put up high where little hands can't reach.

She loves to help me cook.    "Up, Peez"  she yells when she knows I'm getting my baking things out.

She is so sweet and so independent.   She doesn't want to sit in the baby swings when she knows there is big girl swings that are more fun.   She wants to be just like her brothers.

Just recently, she has been refusing to sit in her highchair.   She wanted to sit at the table like the boys so we got her a big girl seat.  She is so proud.

Eli tells me that Grace's favorite color is purple.  I think he is right.

There are some princess things around that Grammy got for her.  She loves her princess chair   After a couple of hours swimming with the boys she will toddle over to her chair and sit down.

And, when she is tired she will crawl up on my lap and announce "watch".   Watch means she wants to watch Wiggles.  She loves all the singing and dancing.

She has not only discovered Wiggles she has also discovered candy.    "Nandy, nandy" she will say.

But, her most favorite thing in the world is her button blanket.   She loves buttons.   Her blanket has buttons sewed all around the edges and she carries it with her everywhere.   "Butts, Butts" she will scream when she is tired and ready for bed.
